In a New York Daily News op-ed, Governor Andrew Cuomo recently released a list of his end-of-session priorities. The op-ed was subtitled, “This is no time for state government to coast.” New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms agrees with that statement; however, we completely disagree with the Governor’s priorities.
Following a recent spate of corruption and bribery scandals, maybe Governor Andrew Cuomo should rethink that whole New York is “Open for Business” campaign. Some people might get the wrong idea.
New York’s only openly homosexual state senator has introduced a bill that would prohibit mental health professionals from engaging in sexual orientation change efforts with clients under the age of 18. If this bill were passed, any mental health professional who helped a minor to overcome unwanted same-sex attraction could lose his professional license, and, with it, his livelihood.
